PROTECTING NEW ENGLAND’S WATERWAYS
Yannuzzi is proud to do our part to protect the integrity of the waterways in New England. We know that it is important to avoid overflow events, and will properly execute a storm drainage system that avoids the hazards of combining sanitary sewer and storm water runoff and keeps both types of sewage separate for maximum health and efficient processing. The proper use of storm drains routes water that has picked up pollutants like chemicals and sediment into a properly controlled storm drainage system, ensuring that the water can be processed properly.
Yannuzzi’s Wet Utilities team has the experience and knowledge required to successfully build both water mains and tie-ins to municipal water facilities. Whether we are laying massive water main pipes or simply providing a tie-in, you can count on us to ensure that all federal, state and local regulations are met and the work is conducted quickly and safely.
One of the most common water projects is a tie-in to an existing water main. The process for a typical water main tie-in begins with locating and marking the existing utilities. Our team then cuts through pavement with surgical precision to ensure that the impact to the surrounding area is minimal. The site is excavated and the system and valves are installed. After passing a pressure test, the lines are disinfected and tested for bacterial contamination. After passing the contamination test, the holes are filled and the pavement restored.

EROSION HAPPENS…
The coastlines and shores of the Northeastern United States are under continued assault from waves and severe storms. Coastlines are our natural protection against hurricanes, storm surges and high tides. If this barrier is compromised by erosion and becomes lower and narrower, nearby buildings, structures and residences risk damage.
To prevent this damage, Yannuzzi provides comprehensive beach and sand replenishment services. This practice of augmenting and replacing the natural sand barrier is also known as beach nourishment. We will determine the quality and quantity of sand required to shore up our shorelines, and provide a widened beach barrier that both protects and beautifies the surrounding area.
Throughout the Northeast there are many bridges and culverts that are aging and in need of repair or replacement.
Removing these large structures can be a monumental task; knowledge and experience is required to ensure that the demolition is done quickly and in a manner that mitigates the inherent dangers involved when dealing with heavy equipment and materials. Yannuzzi’s trained personnel have experience in safely demolishing culverts and bridges in compliance with all EPA, state and Coast Guard requirements.
